Backend Lead

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Backend Lead who can guide a team of backend engineers, ensure code quality, and contribute hands-on to backend development. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in PHP and MongoDB and has worked on microservices-based applications. You will play a key role in managing backend development processes and delivering reliable, scalable backend services.

Roles & Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Lead and mentor backend engineers, ensuring strong coding standards and development practices.
Conduct code reviews and provide guidance on efficient backend development.
Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and high-quality feature delivery.

Backend Development

Develop and maintain backend services using PHP (Laravel/CodeIgniter).
Work on building microservices and ensure smooth communication between services.
Manage data operations and integrations involving MongoDB and MySQL (optional).
Contribute to complex modules, API development, and backend features.

Performance, Scalability & Security

Improve backend performance using caching, queues, and query optimization.
Ensure secure API development, including authentication, access control, and rate-limiting.
Monitor system performance and ensure stability across backend services.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with product, frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to support releases.
Convert business requirements into clear technical tasks for the team.
Help troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth backend delivery.

Skills Required:

You must have 6+ years of backend development experience, primarily with PHP and MongoDB.
Strong experience working with microservices.
Familiarity with Node.js and MySQL is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of backend development, APIs, and system workflows.
Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
